En route from D.C. to Dever...
I've always been facsinated by the patchwork quilt made by viewing adjacent farms from the air.
Beautiful morning at DeLaney Community Farm. This Urban Garden connects shareholders to where their food is grown and helps refugees get back on their feet.
...you must try a cupcake (or two) at D.C. Cupcakes. Yum! Bonus- no line.
We concluded programming at 10:10 pm tonight. It was a very long, but very enlightening day. I will type more later...for now, I'll post pictures from today.
One of these men doesn't look like the others.

He may not be from my home state - but I'm so glad that others might see him here.
Thank you Dr. Borlaug for saving a billion lives. Thank you for tireless research. Thank you for teaching us about hard work and plant genetics.

"Too many times we are looking at our feet, not the horizon of where we need to go." -Nick Tindall Association of Equipment Manufacturers
At the Farm Foundation Forum on Infrastructure issues--Mr. Nick Tindall just shared this quote and it struck me as this is what this program is all about. Let's stop looking at our feet and at the horizon.
And prior to the Forum, Adrian Jahna was interviewed by a member of the Ag press.
This afternoon, Class X, had the privilege of meeting with Congressman Tom Rooney. We had a wonderful conversation on the steps of the Capitol--not a bad classroom to learn about some of the issues that are occurring here. It was a great first day of our national seminar!
Class X of the Wedgworth Leadership Institute has officially made it to D.C.!
We are currently going through security to tour the Capitol building with Congressman Tom Rooney.
Stay tuned as Class X updates about our experiences during Seminar VII!
