“What has Leadership done to me?”
Presented by: Dr. Hannah Carter, WLIANR Program Director, & Valerie McKee, Alumni Coordinator
How have you changed since going through the program? Do you talk differently? Do you feel differently about others different from you? With these thoughts in mind, Dr. Carter and Val presented the first leadership programming seminar at the 2016 Annual Alumni Meeting on Thursday afternoon to approximately 20 WLI Family members. Dr. Carter first introduced (or reintroduced for some who got this training in their program experience) TRUE COLORS as one way to think about our personalities, communication styles, and leadership. Dr. Carter’s personality assessment can be downloaded by clicking the button below. For more information about TRUE COLORS, feel free to reach out to Dr. Carter! Val then stepped up to the plate with a discussion around another “cousin” personality assessment rooted in the same personality theories known as MYERS-BRIGGS. Val’s personality assessment can be downloaded by clicking the button below. For more information about MYERS-BRIGGS, feel free to reach out to Val. (Note: Once you take the MYERS-BRIGGS assessment and determine your four-letter type, Val encourages you to go to https://www.16personalities.com/personality-types to read more about your type in action!) Finally, Val and Dr. Carter tied the importance of understanding yourself and your personality with a discussion on the value of having emotional intelligence. An assessment that can be used to determine your emotional intelligence can be downloaded by clicking the button below. |
